If you do, you may use wood boards and a couple of corbels to elevate your sides, as in the photo. Simply measure, cut, and install wooden planks underneath your island—or under your countertop. Then attach a proper corbel at the sides.

Because of the image and the subtitle you probably already guessed what we are talking about and yes we are installing wall sconces. We believe wall sconces are special and they give it a charm — some even need some mood lighting such as a living room, right up our alley? They are a little tricky to install though, but you can DIY it for sure.
However, we lack the space to explain step by step exactly how to go about doing this. However, fear not, as there are loads of YouTube tutorials and blog posts to help guide you in the right direction!
Spray Furniture Frames
Playing with metallics — especially brass, copper and gold — is one of the fastest, most affordable and easiest pulls to upgrade one element of your design. The good news is that you don’t have to run out and purchase metallic furniture to hop on board this trend. Instead, pop out to your local hardware store and grab some metallic spray paint. After that, spray frames of your furniture and let it discharge.
As the above image shows, this works beautifully with coffee tables, and side tables. This is a great touch with gold and sets into the background that already exists.
Floating Shelves
We’re obsessed with floating shelves. They’re classy yet functional — it’s literally a win-win! Of course, they do look good in just about any of your rooms of your home – bathrooms, bedrooms, home offices, living rooms, etc. Either way, find some reclaimed wood or antique metal and these will add a touch of personality and luxe. The most amazing thing about this project is that it is cheap and quick to implement as well.
After purchasing/making your racks, utilize a spirit degree to guarantee you are repairing them directly. Then attach the shelves with nails or glue. And that’s it — pretty simple, no?
Treat The Front Door To a Fresh Coat of Paint
We know this is a no-brainer, but we rarely think about our front doors — which is insane, because they’re one of the first elements you and your guests see when entering your house. However, as this image so perfectly illustrates, the only thing a property needs to boost its curb appeal is a lick of paint on the front door. Of course, if you’re a little daring you can even change the colour!
To get started on this project, strip any paint on the door, sand it, apply primer, and paint away. Simply, donot forget to tape near the edges of the to prevent splashes.
Spruce Up The Air Vents
When it comes to design, those small touches are what can take everything up a notch — and your air vents are no different. The unfortunate reality, however — as evidenced by that depressed air vent to the left in the photo — is that most wind up discarded. Unattended air vents can get a little grungy and raggedy, killing the flow of an otherwise potentially very picture perfect room. The solution? For instance, you can build a wooden air vent like this DIY project below.
You could quickly create something similar to the above with a few planks of wood and a lick of paint to complement the rest of the room. It looks so much slicker!
Marbleize The Countertops
What could be more luxurious than marble, anyway? It is one of those stones we immediately think of luxury and class. For example, suppose your counters are made of vinyl. If they do, then they can seem rather dull and be in need of a bit of sprucing up. If this is resonating with you, then you will be happy to learn that you can easily paint your counter so that they look like marble. Pretty neat, right?
There are actually whole DIY kits for stuff like this. You’re almost certain to find one working at your neighborhood hardware store or, if not, at Amazon. And then follow the instructions – easy!
Revamp The Door Handles
You don’t always have to do something dramatic even to refresh your interiors. Somtimes just changing your door knobs will do the trick. Whether you choose something a little more modern or lean toward an older style, this will be one way to make a statement to your door. Just remember the energy of the room. Anything you choose must fit the theme otherwise, it may come off as mismatched.
Unscrew your current door handle and switch it with what you’ve selected. Simple! Take a look at the contemporary gold door knob in the image below! From you have no idea where to start with this project — use this for inspiration!
Utilize Upholstery
This has a bunch of ways that you can use upholstery to do some interior hardening. In this particular example, participants have made over their closet door with upholstery. It is an amazing, fresh approach that can actually enhance the appearance value of your bedroom. They have not only changed the entire door appearance, they have also removed the door handle and instead of a handle they placed a door knocker, just like you would on a front door!
This project looks really complicated, but, actually, it is simpler than it looks. As a first step, remove the door from the hinges. Then brush on some fabric glue, stick on your selected textile and cover with some vinyl.
