Man Discovers Mysterious Well Beneath His Home
Following the Beat — Most homeowners have little to no idea of what is hiding in the void of their floorboards, nor is it best that they are shown what lurks beneath 😂 When they ripped up a few floorboards, they discovered a huge well under their house and found that out for themselves. A long tunnel, rich with spiderwebs and dark and creepy; and on top of that they found out they had two of them under the house.
So while I’m sure they immediately suspected the house was haunted, that’s actually not been too weird for houses once you start digging below the floorboards. Before municipal water systems, this is the way homeowners would draw their water.

After some time in your home and you practically meld with the house itself. But, you lock in on what there is to be repaired, you can feel when another person is in the place, and you can also be that way feel when some thing is off. When this dad felt a strange vibration coming from his property, we don’t blame him for heading out to investigate. But he needed to figure it out.
But we reckon he probably didn’t expect to discover a giant beehive concealed inside some of the brickwork. We suppose that it might have gifted him a fine jar of honey, however.

Chains likely bring to mind the dainty mini chains we wear around our necks, the chains that keep boat captains temporarily anchored to the sea bed, and the chains used to transport stalled vehicles to safety. But when have you ever seen an arbitrary chain in your wall? So what have these homeowners of this house found when they went for a construction renovation and remodeling the 1930 years of construction?
The chain in such a random place but also so large. Even now they don’t really know why it was there or what use it was for.

You shouldn’t have to worry about secrets with a new construction. However, they cannot be said to be the same when you’re purchasing an older home. It is part of the deal when you come in that you are going to find the old stuff. And the owners of this house discovered it for themselves when they found an old, scary safe hidden behind one of their walls.
This brace definitely looks fierce, from the covered steel to the larger pad-lever sets. However, coming back to the more unsettling part — the fact that the safe is open! What was this safe hiding in the past? We’ll never know.

The bookcases, which have served as secret keepers for centuries, are filled with stories. If you read the books, you unlock them, right? However, that rule is a tad different in this house. While the bookcase does contain some rather amusingly interesting books, the best way the homeowners can get the scoop on this one is to pull it towards them and unveil the door hidden behind it!
Which, sure, could just be a panic room or an oversized closet, but it’s very cool regardless — and hopefully, the new owners embrace having it and make it a feature.

While many people find more comfort in having a shiny new construction home — after all, everything is updated to code — other people take solace in the more sturdy bones of an old house. And so did the owner of this house, who well reasoning, purchased a couple of hundred years old specimen. They even knew it was that old because they found a slab of history in the home slides.
They discovered an old newspaper in good condition, but it was a newspaper with the date still valid. Eg yes, it does indeed say 1902.

This freaky and fabulous scenario was a total win for this homeowner because there are plenty of folks out there who’d love to have their home stretch a little farther to provide some extra space. They basically found an extra room in their property without trying! Naturally, we’re left wondering why they own a bus in the first place – but we’ll save that question for another day, apparently.
It might occupy precious parking space with this tiny addition but who needs parking when you can convert another room into an in-house mini-theater, swimming pool or games room? We certainly don’t.

Who doesnt love monopoly? A fun classic, it has been around for years. This has given rise to Monopoly fans worldwide, and at least one of them lived in this house! So much so in fact that they made their floor into a life size monopoly board. Eventually, it got carpeted over, but the new homeowners of this house scored when they found this little treasure.
This floor most certainly needs a bit of a scrub but in reality, if the new homeowner fancied it, this space could be the games room of every dream. And we really hope they do.
“Discovering Your House Is Built from Gravestones”
I mean, we aren’t construction experts, but we have to imagine houses are built with new materials, right? But undoubtedly, this house wasn’t, and these homeowners have the evidence to back it up! While renovating, they found some of their walls built of old gravestones. They even arrived with the names of the dead people still on them. That’s so creepy and weird.
The homeowners don’t know why their house was made out of gravestones, but they do know one thing now: their beloved home is packed cheek-to-jowl with angry and displaced ghosts.

When you evict an object from your home, a few stragglers will often present themselves. Could be an earring, could be some spare change. However, we suspect the dude who knocked a concrete porch out of his home only to uncover 158 bowling balls cast into the earth was a tad baffled by his find. In other words, you could argue it was a three-strike response, but then again that might qualify as good news.
And though the homeowner attempted to make sense of it, and why he had all those bowling balls beneath his house, he ultimately got no closer to finding an answer. All he learned was that the bowling balls were from the 1950’s

While most of us find old toys, loose change, or records when we remodel a house, other people find a little something more exciting. Well, this couple found a fish being fossilised under their floorboards when they decided to get their kitchen remodelled! As such, this is an archaeological wonder — which is lucky, because the fish itself can be lined up to over 50 million years old, You probably can’t say that about your home.
However, looking closer the couple explained that this fish used to be located in an area now covering Wyoming, Utah and Colorado. But if that was not crazy enough, she in fact had a husband in Massachusetts too!

And as most of them stay controversial until the day they finally collapse and destroy or even demolished from the face of the earth, others have their secrets revealed in the weirdest circumstances. Like this father-in-law, who discovered a mystery box under an old house. And although he thought it was vacant at first, a weird rattle quickly made it clear that something was inside there.

Everyday folk, when theywish to drink a glass of water, go to their kitchen andturn on the faucet. Otherwise, they pile up a bottle out of their fridge. What you know, though, is the people who lived in a house like that were fancy if they didn’t have to do either to satisfy their thirst. And the residents of this house get to sip their water from their very own private water fountain!
Well, kind of — which is a pretty weird thing to add onto a house, but it is actually a smart and sensible one, if you think about it. In this way, the family has water available at their living room.

Let us be honest, nobody likes to have bugs in their house. They are annoying, they are kind of freaky, and they are just a fucking headache. On top of that, they cost nothing for rent! However, if you are daring, eradicating these bugs is actually rather simple — unless of course you discover a key bunker under your property that is overflowing with creepy crawlies. If we ran into this bunker, we would just walk away, and burn the house down.
Well, creepy crawlies like dark, cool places, so naturally this bunker was crawling with critters after two decades of neglect. But that does not make it any less fine.

After all, few things are as thrilling as discovering archaeological gold hidden away in your attic (you lucky thing). Perhaps the strangest items are the ones that have been left behind: old photographs, old vinyl, old tapes – these little gems can provide clues into the lives of people who once lived in the same home. However, we sort of think that when someone discovered this tape in their attic, they weren’t too pleased when they came across it. Because honestly who wants to bust into a David Koresh tape inside their house.
The previous owner of this house was evidently an acolyte for the infamous cult leader so the attic begs the question of what other buried treasure is up there. Actually, maybe ignorance is bliss.

You can negotiate a lot of appliances and even fittings out of the sale of the property. The same goes for some items like window coverings and washer/dryers. But this couple decided to purchase a home that included one other unique device. Indeed, this house included a built-in toaster — and we reckon we’ve never before seen one of those!
Rather than the standard two-bread toaster, this had four slots for bread (specifically in a fitted toaster.) But that wasn’t all. Because it was mounted to the wall it didn’t have to take up any counter space. What a result.

There’s always a lot of need for spare cash. The average person would be ecstatic to discover a hidden cache of cash within their home, redirecting from scrounging through the couch for spare coins to turning their denim pockets inside out. Still, we can’t help but worry even just a little that somebody had a load of notes discovered in the pipe of their dryer. How did it get there? And why is it there?
Sure, our minds went to crime immediately, but we just know this cash was placed there purely innocently. What a bonus for the first-time home buyers as well! That’s a great welcome home.

Like any homeowner, they can do whatever they want to the home they own as long as they comply with the layout of the neighborhood. This does lead to some issues regarding selling, as not all of these changes are popular. And then there are those who, like these people, built a whole house inside of a house inside the basement stair well. That same old home — the one these folks were so lucky to buy — is now thriving thanks to its owners following their sweaty little guts and deciding to build this tiny project into their old place.
Fortunately for the new owners, they had a child who just adored the full-sized house for children! This likely gave them some much-needed peace and opportunity to finalize organizing in their new home!

OK, so the majority of homes in this world are brick, so the people that purchased this home probably didn’t think twice about having the side of their home being accentuated with wood instead of a hefty brick wall. Yet could not seem to notice that this wall was not any wall they had ever come across before. Amidst the surprising porosity of some of their bricks was a strange keyhole. And it was the purpose of it they could waive out.
We asked the internet and learned that the keyhole might represent something called a “Knox Box.” The box usually holds the keys of a building to let the first responders in.

A kind of tip for other new home owners out there — check the roof when you move in to your new house. Well, you never know what you might find out there! While there’s a good chance you will find nothing interesting, you could just hit the jackpot like the people who moved in to this house. When they looked up to the peak of their roof, they found a hostage situation—don’t worry, he got the frog out.
We don’t know why anyone would want to tie a frog to the chimney, but we should just hope it wasn’t a possessed frog that was there to annoy the property’s inhabitants.

People like imprinting their style on a home. They may scrawl their names on the plaster, etch initials into wet cement, or leave messages for later inhabitants. They obviously wanted to do the same thing back in 1997 and they also wanted to use their note as a means of making a promise to their future self. And that promise included none other than the Spice Girls.
The Spice Girls are still around though, so someone had better get this father and tell him he needs to eat his overalls. Because, come on — a promise is a promise!

We all know how scary it can be to go up to the attic. The attic can appear creepy without proper lighting or even neat flooring. However there are times when you simply have to move up or when the person asking you to do so happens to be your manager. And so that’s precisely what one restaurant worker did when they were asked to do something. And it wasn’t long before they worked out that they should have taken a mate along for moral support!
They got up there to find only one raven, and if that isn’t some serious Edgar Allan Poe shit we don’t know what is. If we witnessed this, we would have fled.
What the Fork?
And when you start building out your house, you had better be prepared for what you might dig up. Within walls and beneath floorboards are a treasure trove of old trinkets. Now some of these will blow your mind, others will leave you scratching your head! This would lead us to assume that whoever found this little fork was left scratching their head (and perhaps scratching with the fork) with confused bemusement during their foundational work.
Who knows if this is an ant fork or this fork shrank in the wall over its lifetime, but wow are we full of questions. None of them have any solutions, however.

The greatest benefit of being a homeowner is that you can adjust your space to fit your needs, and your style. And based on the outside of this house, the occupant of that lovely home is not only a fan of Christmas, but also a fan of tea. This also begs the question, why would one put a teapot atop the roof of their house? Not something you see every day
Maybe they were hoping to capture the rain for some natural drinking water, or perhaps they’d lost power and were hoping to boil the kettle using the sun. In any event, this is weirdly epic.
“How Did They End Up Painting an Empty SIM Card on the Ceiling?”
As anyone who has ever attempted painting a ceiling or wall will be aware, it can be quite the challenge. A single stray hair can linger there for decades, and a prying pet could imprint a paw on the ceiling until that bit of wall is painted over. Now we’ve seen a lot of painting fails but to say we’ve seen anything like this before is actually an understatement. Yes, that’s an actual sim card painted to the ceiling!
Now here’s what’s even weirder, the sim card holder didn’t actually have a card in it. We’ll never know how this came to be.
“A 102-Year-Old Fire Extinguisher Found”
Even though a fire extinguisher is not required in every home, it never hurts to have one. And this new homeowner was expecting a surprise fire extinguisher left in the home from when they hospital the fortys, which we think is not so helpful in case of a fire. Well, it’s 112-years-old after all!
Even if it doesn’t work, however, it’s an interesting piece of history and it goes right next to the doorframe surprisingly well. Here’s to hoping they didn’t just trash it.
“The Door Leading to Nowhere”
One of the greatest aspects of moving into a new home is the first times it is seen empty. The home had personality but, with the old owners’ furniture removed, you can see the little quirks each room has in its full glory. However, in some cases, you’re simply unable to see them immediately — particularly when they were painted over, well nigh hiding them from view. New owners of this house couldn’t believe when they found an unassuming door on their wall that they hadn’t seen before. So, where does it lead, go on then, put us out of our misery.
“They Don’t Make Wallpaper Like They Used To”
Many people choose to center remodel or adorn to update or furnish a pinch extra space. But the people who found this wallpaper seems to have given themselves a little more room in a different, much more ironic way. As they peeled back layer after layer of wallpaper, they were amazed to find the original wallpaper that first went up in the old farmhouse. And we truly hope they chose to keep it! After all, it’s awesome.
The individual responsible for that wallpaper was most certainly a science nerd, which is just another reason we love this discovery. Well, it seems like a ballsy purchase takes balls to make, after all.
“When Nature Calls at the Top of the Basement Stairs”
If basement decor and design advice sounds scary, you likely don’t need us to tell you that basements are creepy. And if you think basements are creepy, there’s a reason most horror movies happen in them in the first place. However, it sounds like this individual discovered quite a useful feature in their home’s lower level. One can only guess that the builder obviously had a weak bladder and wanted to prepare for all eventualities.
For your information, that is indeed a working toilet just at the top of the basement stairs! Which obviously, in the case of a horror movie, isn’t the most useful thing to have but in real life, it’s not a bad thing to have a second toilet in your home.
“The Previous Owners Knew What They Were Doing”
It reminds me of the horrible dilemma of being on a Zoom call and needing to use the loo. You can hardly hold it in while discussing some topic of no interest to you with your boss, only to sprint to the bathroom immediately after the call is done. However, it sounds like the folks that bought this home don’t need to sweat that. They have the perfect WFH arrangement, after all.
Rather than waiting to when they were on a call to express themselves to just go to the bathroom, lower the desk and carry on with the Zoom call in privacy! It is a bit gross, but it does get the job done.

Finding lost and forgotten toys is something which happens when you move into a new home. The majority are locked away in the attic for over 40 years in case someone discovers them, but is it even a toy? Okay, it sort of resembles a plushie. But likewise, we are not spending blood on what we are taking a gander at. Is it a fluffy seal monster?
We can see how someone could be confused when they find such an object in their new home, and so when one person wrote to Reddit asking if it could help determine whether a house is haunted, an answer simply called it “nightmare fuel.”
“Isn’t That the Location for the Front Door?”
Designing and building a house must not be a simple task. We imagine it takes a whole lot of work and commitment inside those four walls, and heaven knows, we will never understand what that entails. And like, we’ve definitely never built one, but we know you always need a front door. Which is why we are a bit baffled when we stare at this odd home. Where’s the front door gone? And how do you get in?
Almost like a sketchy old couple lives here and they hate children and just want to be left alone. And frankly in this day and age, one can’t really blame them. We’d probably do the same.
A Shadowy Reminder
It takes time to acclimate to a new address, especially when you first move into a home. It is completely normal to get confused and mix up your new address with the previous. However, one thing is for sure, the new owners of this house of a certain should not forget their door number. And if they are, all they need to do is head to their staircase and observe the shadow.
For a couple of days on a specific time, when the sun hits exactly on the right place, their house number shows on the stairs, it is a beautiful strange thing. Plus, it must come in handy.
Door-Ception
Every home needs doors. At least we all can all agree on that, right? However, the number of doors every house is required to have — and their location — is up for debate. If not enough they leave to much space if many they create clutter and confuse them. And if you think we are kidding, see this picture from below! What do five doors side by side mean?
OK, the two middle doors look like they’re trying to hide a closet and the two end doors separate two rooms from one another. Combined, however, it ends up looking pretty messy.
“This House Is Ideal for Couples Who Want to Be Together Always”
If you have someone you love living in your home along with you more than anything else in your life, you can probably understand the draw of this strange find. Indeed, if you are one who despises leaving their better half — even when nature calls — this house certainly provides the option of going while being thoroughly gazed into! Sounds creepy to some but is all the love for others.
Even more strange about this peculiar arrangement is that there is a table in between the toilets with a free hugs sign on it, plus the fact that there was only one roll of toilet paper!
“Why Would They Conceal This Century-Old Brick Behind Plaster?”
Through the years, others decide they are in a position to make upgrades to their homes. This typically contains modernization and typically consists of covering the bricks with plaster. This cat, however, was not about that new-wave life and chose to broach the plaster in search of what lay behind. Fortunately — and just his luck, really — the bricks from more than 120 years ago had hardly deteriorated! You can read the smile on his face as the sky.
I mean this dude clearly wanted to keep the structure of the building intact and the bricks underneath are just beautiful. This time however, this particular young home owner made the right decision.
Shining Glory
There is nothing worse than having to take a leak when there is no toilet in sight. Yet, the potty in your house will always be there for when you need it, and that familiar environment can be just as much of a blessing. And apparently the owners of this house definitely believe their toilet is divine, too. Just look at it! It’s glistening. It’s glorious. And it is glowing in the bathroom like a lighthouse.
This toilet is in fact a sun trap IRL — but I think we can all agree we want to go to this person’s house and use it. It just looks so majestic.
“We Thought This Was Just a Movie Scenario”
And spy movies are not the only ones that are reminiscent of spy movies: we all know that hiding houses and rooms with hidden doors in them would be great. Naturally, the average Joe isn’t going to get these odd features — but that hasn’t stopped some individuals from making them. Well, this New Year reveller discovered a secret bedroom in their Airbnb rental, and it was located just behind a nondescript bookshelf.
The bedroom hidden behind the bookcase is slightly anti-climatic though; we suppose not as many folks are in the market for secret spy dens. But still, this small feature is a neat thing to spot.
“Unique Twist on the Classic White Picket Fence”
From some of the strangest of discoveries, this list has some pretty bizarre ones but we are here to lighten up the mood a bit. And yes, it’s a cat-themed white picket fence! A passer-by noticed this fence, but we have no doubt the person who resides inside is a feline fanatic. And if this is the outside of their house lord only knows what the inside looks like.
This cat fence does with a coat of paint to freshen it up a bit, but the result is still great! Not too obvious, but still cat-related.
“Experience All Four Seasons in One Window”
While the weird things found in homes featured in this list are mostly creepy, unexplained and chilling, this one sits on the opposite scale. I mean, after all, everyone spends their entire lives hoping to have a good view out of their windows at home (and the residents get all four seasons in one shot). Summer, fall, and winter all in spring, yes!!!
Those folks are certainly fortunate to have that view right outside the door, and we hope they made the most of that bay window getting a cozy reading chair or two. You can’t waste that view.
